Our story

From a broken amp to a global revolution in guitar sound

Invented in 1968 by guitarist and innovator Roberto Aspri, ASPRI became the world’s first mechanical spring reverb for acoustic guitars. Guided by legendary artists Liona Boyd and Alexandre Lagoya, and fueled by Roberto’s deep love for music, ASPRI helped guitarists reach new depth in their acoustic playing, inspiring musicians everywhere, from living rooms to world stages. But we never stopped listening. With help from musicians worldwide, ASPRI evolved, removing buzzing, rattling, and tricky setups. Now? Just pure, natural reverb: full, musical, and unmistakably analog. Proudly made in Canada 🍁, ASPRI isn’t just gear, it’s Roberto’s lifelong mission to inspire musicians at every level with every note.

A family legacy of sound

For over 50 years, ASPRI has been shaping the way guitarists experience natural reverb. Today, Roberto Aspri, the inventor, and his son Alan lead the mission to inspire musicians everywhere.

Roberto Aspri

Founder, Inventor & Visionary

In 1968, he created the world’s first mechanical spring reverb for acoustic guitars—a breakthrough that changed acoustic guitar forever. His design won the Canada Award for Business Excellence in Industrial Design and earned praise from legends like Zakk Wylde, Andy Grammer, and Vernon Reid.

A lifelong musician and composer, Roberto also received a Félix nomination for his instrumental album Aspri. Today, he continues perfecting ASPRI to deliver pure, analog reverb—100% unplugged, with no batteries, cables, or complications.

Beyond music, he is a respected Quebec notary & title attorney and President of the Union des Notaires du Québec, bringing the same precision and leadership to law as he does to sound.
